Anyone interested in recent(ish) #LeedsHistory should check out this new @leedscivictrust.bsky.social exhibition in Kirkgate Market. As well as some fascinating photos, there's contemporary coverage of Leeds Development Corporation from Leeds Other Paper and Kirkstall Matters.

Interesting to see this display in Leeds Central Library with lots of info about things to do in York, while Leeds City Council propose closing down one of the best museums in Yorkshire (Abbey House in Kirkstall) due to lack of visitors.

Misguided, shortsighted, unfathomable! A true community museum displaying the objects of Leeds Social History - everyday life in context. Also actively engaged in contemporary collecting from the community it represents and lies within. LCC should be shouting about it, not closing it down.
