This was my 40th year taking in the Parade from the corner of Grand River and Woodward. In that time, I’ve seen so much change. As a young kid, I remember looking at buildings and storefronts and imagining what could be - excited to see the continued positive arc of progress on Woodward.

Last week, we started work on a $21M project on Detroit’s west side to reduce combined sewer overflows to the Rouge River. Cleaning the Rouge remains an important, decades-old regional priority. Projects like this continue to move the needle on reclaiming our river for future generations.
