they could easily get to a “trusted ally” relationship imo. but i don’t think there’s any scenario where shadow would try to get anything closer than that so it has to be espio. but even if he wanted to, unless he has a proper reason, he’d probably respect if shadow wanted him to back off

i love shadow and espio… u can find so many similarities between them that rly makes me think they could understand eachother in such a unique way if they got the opportunity (and something pushed espio into putting in the effort to befriend him because no way is shadow going to)
