A breast cancer recurrence can happen months, years, or even decades after an initial diagnosis. As scary as this fact is, we cannot ignore it. Metastatic breast cancer, whether a de novo diagnosis or a recurrence, takes too many lives each year. #StageIVneedsMORE Source: Metavivor

Although mammography is the best early detection tool, it is estimated that 20% of breast cancer diagnoses are missed. False negative results are especially prevalent in women with dense breast tissue.
