i wouldn't say i'm an aestheticist but art for art's sake is literally fine. there can be no beauty out of context... beauty always has a context which is that we live in a hideous world that's only worth living in because it can also be heartbreakingly beautiful

this is why you shouldnt believe what you see on the internet. It was actually closer to 50 years. His name was Porphyrios, he actually caused the creation of entirely new trading routes just to avoid him and was declared enemy of the state by Justinian. He is the hero we need.
