JANUARY 12, 2025 Urgent Call to Action:We Need You at the Rotunda! TUESDAY JANUARY 20, 2026 — NOONJoin us in the Capitol Rotunda to defend our civil rights and demand a response from Montana’s Governor and federal delegation. This Fall, Indivisible Helena organizers submitted a petition to the Governor and Montana’s federal delegation. The petition had over 6,000 signatures gathered statewide, calling on lawmakers to reaffirm our constitutional rights and to publicly condemn political violence and the use of military force against civilians.

JANUARY 6, 2026 Our New Year’s Wish: A Healthy Democracy Indivisible Helena (IH) is reflecting on the past year — the challenges and successes — while recommitting for the long-term to our shared democratic values of participation, nonviolence, and accountability. In 2025, we focused on learning — how to mobilize, engage volunteers, and build community. We are grateful for the many members/volunteers willing to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in this effort to defend and restore a functioning, vibrant democracy.

The role holds broad authority over nearly every action the Commission directs. The City Manager sets meeting agendas —decides whether to schedule citizen-led resolutions such as the ICE resolution, manages discussions on affordable housing — hires department heads, and holds staff accountable for carrying out the Commission’s work.

Local media reported nearly 2,500 people gathered at the State Capitol for Helena’s No Kings rally — part of a nationwide show of strength. More than 7 million individuals joined rallies across the country, not one arrest among them — showing MAGA what peaceful protesting REALLY looks like.
