One of my fave family #ChristmasTraditions is our annual bauble. I let my child select a ribbon each year, and I cut the length to her height at the beginning of Dec, placing it with a note of the year and height inside a fillable bauble. She needs to slow down! They're getting very full!

Yeah 100% I knew exactly what the plan was with the pokestop scans. It wasn't even buried on page 37 of the T&Cs. It was right upfront in the "what is this" info.
+1 on this. We knew our data was being fed into the machine. It wasn't a secret.
I really don't like this framing. "Unwittingly" is the wrong word. I have been playing Go on & off for a long time, & before that Ingress, & everyone I ever talked to about it knew exactly what the data was going to end up used for, they just wanted to play the game
