I started Atypical Types Creative Services almost five years ago as a temporary way for me to help other teams unlock their creativity. I didn’t anticipate how much demand there would be.

After much delay, we now have a LinkedIn page!

I’d like to create a musical called My Fair Lad.

Like My Fair Lady, but instead of a Cockney girl becoming posh, it’s about training a foreigner to act British: tea etiquette, weather chat, pretending to understand cricket, tutting, and more.

Might be autobiographical.

I was doing some gameplay design work for a character power based game - and it tickled me that The Lost Vikings, Thomas Was Alone, The Cave, and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light were all valid references for a specific system.

There is a lot to like about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. But punching nazis in the face is my absolute favourite. It just never gets old.

A mate of mine recently was targeted by a very sophisticated AI voice spoofing scam. She almost fell for it too, but was saved by having the presence of mind to ask for their family codeword.

If you do not have one, establish one right away!

Keep it simple but not guessable.

I saw some eye drops on a pharmacy shelf and they inspired me to create some fake products we all need. :)

We all know the clichés of aliens bringing total annihilation one way or another. But where are the stories about aliens visiting Earth to explore strange new cuisine; to seek out new tastes and new flavours; to boldly eat where no alien has eaten before!?

Do you have to watch kids' shows? I recommend genre swapping in your head! Creature Cases is fun and all. But in my head I am imagining each episode as True Detective and that makes it much better. :-)

A TV series I really enjoyed had a silly cliff-hanger at the end of every bloody episode. It got boring, predictable and frankly patronizing.

So I started stopping each episode a few minutes before the end to avoid them. That's until I had enough and just stopped watching.

A Hungarian author, László Krasznahorkai won the Nobel Prize in Literature!

His anti-totalitarian and anti-nationalistic stance is exactly what we need in Hungary and many countries around the world.

I couldn't remember the word "churros" the other day so I called them "donut fingers" instead. And the more I think about it, the more accurate I find that description.

Shockingly, the term "power nap" was only coined in 1998.

My theory is that Cornell University social psychologist James B. Maas just wanted to convince his bosses to let him sleep at work. But he ended up rebranding teensy little sleeps into business-lingo by accident.

I didn't realize until just now that direct messages require an age verification here on Bluesky. So whoever messaged me... I'm afraid it'll be a while before I can read that.

I’m deeply honoured and excited to be joining the @baftagames.bsky.social Committee. I’m looking forward to supporting the incredible work BAFTA does to celebrate and support games as an art form.

I truly appreciate when someone shows an interest in gaming and I usually do my best to support them.

But sometimes... sometimes it is hard not to make a joke. And someone saying "Hollow Night Sing Song" instead of Hollow Knight: Silksong is one such moment. :-D

After decades of speaking English, I still phrase things weirdly sometimes. I was seconds away from sending an email when I realized the recipient might not understand "we need to be in the same room with something hot in our hands" means I'd like to have coffee face to face.

I need to reset the counter. I once again used Genital Jousting as an example to explain to people (who don't know games) how varied and different games actually are.
