I am so goddamm ready to no longer be in the holiday season at work. Last two months of the year are easily the worst time of the year to be working food retail. Massive freight volume, huge crowds that love to jump into your path when you're pulling a heavy pallet and try to get run over.

Going to be taking sticker sales offline for a while towards the end of this month.
TLDR: Can't afford the cost to keep them open.

An announcement detailing the hiatus of sticker sales starting December 26th. A code, IMPACT25, is listed to allow 25% off on sticker prices until December 25th. A new, Stormlight-themed sticker is presented. The main body of text reads: So here's the situation: My PO box reservation is going to be running out at the end of December, and while the stickers have been fun to make, they haven't really sold well enough to break even on the cost of the materials and the box. Financially, it's been a net loss so far. Due to that and some other factors, I'll be shutting down sticker sales after December 25th. It's clear now this pursuit needed more time in the oven and a better/wider selection to be viable. The plan now is to keep making some more designs when I have ideas for them and time to get em done, so that when things stabilize for me in the future, I can reopen orders with more things to offer you all. But for the time left...

Going out of town in a few days, and I feel like this break is needed at this point.

Without going too into detail, it's been... a bit of a stressful month. My pace has been flagging with art stuff, and I had to call in sick today cause it's the second time this week I've woken up feeling ill.

Made the Baja Blast pie

The verdict:
Has potential, but had to substitute key lime juice for a different lime juice, which gave this one an odd flavor. Planning to try again soon.

Some positive news to balance out the last couple posts:
I've been having this odd issue with my new PC for almost as long as I've had it, but now that a few weeks have passed since trying to fix it, I think I can semi-confidently say the fix worked!

For a good while, my PC was having an issue where it would "get stuck" when trying to shut down. It wouldn't freeze or anything like that, but the fans would spin up to a random speed and stay there, one 'fan' being a significantly higher speed than the rest. Additionally, the temperature reading, both on the board display and in the monitoring software, would stick at whatever temperature reading it was at. In this state, the computer functioned as normal, but when I would sleep, restart, or shut it down, the monitors and the cpu would do so, but all the lights and fans in the case would remain on. From this state, the PC would refuse to turn back on. It would respond to nothing but holding the power button to force a shutdown. From there, I could turn it back on as one normally would from a shutdown state. After researching the issue with little luck and searching through and testing software with the help of a friend, I let the issue sit for a while. Eventually, I got around to opening the case up to look at the wiring. I'm quite far from an expert in PC building, but I was able to figure out, with some reading and visual inspection, that the motherboard had a specific port labeled for an AIO pump. (I know, who'd have guessed the port labeled 'SYS_Pump' should've been connected to the pump) That significantly faster 'fan' that had caused concern was actually the pump for my liquid cooling and was supposed to be faster. After reconnecting the pump, splitting up all the fans onto their own ports (which I've been told was a bit extra, but I figure could hurt, at least), and adjusting the fan speed parameters, the issue has yet to resurface and my computer is even running quieter at baseline than before!

This past week has been... tiring. Dealing with some personal life stuff that's supplied a fair bit of stress, leaving me pretty wiped with little energy left over to put into things I want to do.

It's like I was running at a nice pace, then got tripped and had the wind knocked out of me.

Some thoughts on Ch 100 of Kagurabachi because I like the direction Hokazono went with the latest plot development and wanted to talk about it.

[BIG SPOILERS for the manga! I'd really recommend reading it for yourself first! It's good!]
The Sword Saint has been built up as this force of nature BBEG that went mad during the big war 19 years before the story started. Using what was essentially the sword equivalent of a nuke, he committed mass genocide and drove the opposition to a treaty, leading to the incident being covered up and him being sealed in solitude for almost 20 years. The current plot is a massive raid on the Kamunabi, the main governmental sorcerer organization that's been keeping the Sword Saint imprisoned and the enchanted blades on lock down, to try and reach the Sword Saint and his weapon. Easy set up for a "The mad swordsman is now free, we have an apocalypse level threat to deal with now" type plot, right? Nope. Chapter 100 drops, The Sword Saint holds a full conversation for the first time, and he's perfectly sane and personable. "I chose based on my beliefs and ideals to kill all those people. To protect this country and its people." (A bit of an awkward and direct to the audience delivery, but I'll let it slide.) Evil doesn't get to hide behind "They're monstrous, they're insane, they're something other than a normal human." They were of clear mind, knew exactly what they were doing, and it was a human just like any of us that was capable of this absolute monstrosity. No excuses. Feels very relevant, especially these days. Others have said it better than I could, but the dehumanization of evil removes the nuance from it. Makes it some other force that, obviously, we as people with humanity and compassion could never perpetuate. "Of course they'd do that. They're inherently monsters without the capacity for good." In a strange way, it absolves those perpetuating evil of the responsibility for their actions because after all, they're just following their nature. It might be easier or more comforting to view them as monsters, but as we're seeing, the dehumanization of the out group is a dangerous practice to have on a societal level. Any one of us could be capable of committing monstrous acts, be it due to nationalism, xenophobia, ambition, greed, misguided self-preservation, spite, anger, or any number of reasons. Some people may not be self-aware enough to recognize those reasons, but that's a personal issue. Doesn't make them any less human. And that's why it's ever more important to choose to do good.

It's officially in that stage of "I've experienced this so many times I'm numb to it", so I hope it hits. I do remember it being funny in the early stages. Kind of wishing I'd finished it sooner for a few reasons.
