Unfortunately, Facebook ads can be the difference between your crowdfunding campaign succeeding or not, and the fact they keep rejecting ads for board games that cover “sensitive social issues” (y'know controversial shit like women being given the vote) is fucked.

Tried out Billionaire Bunker from @imnotshouting.bsky.social. A satirical 2 player asymmetric roll & write. Played as the civilians, sadly I lost due to getting greedy with tile laying, and got caught out bluffing. My opponent secured key endgame dice modifiers and locked down the win. #boardgame

So much of AI is just "instant creativity for people who don't want to pay for it". When I try to run Facebook ads for my game Billionaire Bunker, it just constantly interrupts with shit variations of the name. And you can't turn it off. What's the point?

Trying to place an ad on Facebook is like using the internet in 2001. Every click opens a new page, every page says something like "Welcome to the new Meta Business Suite, this replaces the Meta Business Manager", constant AI spam, & the end of it I have no idea if I've done everything properly.

A real shame. Prospero Hall could’ve taken the easy way out and slapped established IP on bad games but you could tell they really cared. Some of their games were legit, like Back to the Future and Rear Window.

I feel like board games are in such an exciting space right now where they are finally being taken as seriously as any other art form. Like, Amabel Holland has made a game called Doubt Is Our Product where you can play as the tobacco industry. Looks amazing. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/40...
