My bff made a highlight reel of her year and didn't include me, which made me want to cry, but of joy. That sounds weird, but she understands that I don't want my real human image all over the internet and she respects my wishes. No fuss. No asking why. She just does it and I love her for that.

I‘m discontinuing my social media use for the foreseeable future and I want to explain why.
I woke up in the new year to discover that some guy on here had saved photos I took on New Year’s Eve and used Grok to remove my clothes. I know this because he showed me.

My bff and I went to brunch today and this super trendy new place in town and it was genuinely good!? Like, you walk in and it has a very, very Instagramable aesthetic. A ~cool~ bar and lots of greenery. But the food was great! Normally those places are mediocre at best.

I'm trying to think what to write back to Googly Eyes and I'm so nervous! She made a pen pal club and -actually- sent us all postcards. I got a tourist postcard from my hometown 😅 to send to her, but I have to figure out what to write! She got us all these lovely botanical cards, each one different.

I finally took off my press-on nails. Those suckers stayed on for a week and a half! I wore gloves while washing the dishes for the first few days and then gave up and my nails still stayed on.

I have to repeat my egg experiment to make sure it wasn't just a fluke or I had some older eggs (that makes them easier to peel). I put a tiny amount of baking soda in the water. Cooked for 11 minutes. (I wanted them more firm than jammy.) Then I put them in an ice bath for about 12 minutes.
My first food of the new year is a new food to me: Mul Naengmyeon. A Korean cold soup made with buckwheat noodles. I used a kit and it still took me ages to make. 😅 I did have to boil some eggs (somehow perfectly and the shells came off so easily!) and cut some apple up to substitute for pear.

My OCD demands that I have gold nails for New Year's Eve every year (IDK why, honestly) but my Christmas nails are still perfectly fine and stuck on well so I literally just glued some gold stars onto a nail. And by glue I mean, as you can see, craft glue. It looks bad but I can wash them off, lol.

Mario Kart World feels like Mario-ified kinda-sorta-Forza Horizon. It's wild, but I like it because I freaking love Forza Horizon games. There's even a beach level with a music festival happening and I'm like, this is straight up Forza Horizon.

I really thought I could handle the TOPIK I (test of proficiency in Korean) test, so I looked at some of the previous years' tests they let you see in order to get a feel for what the test may be like. I was -promptly- humbled. 🫥

Last post: Yes, I am weird and I still listen to the radio in the car. My favorite game is "find where in town this pirate radio station is coming from." I still haven't quite found it. There's a rando station that plays 70s rock, but you can only get it clearly in very specific parts of town.

I drive a 2010 model partly because (knock on wood) it still runs great and hasn't had any major issues. The other part is that it has buttons and knobs! I don't have to look away from the road to change the air. And my steering wheel has buttons for changing radio stations and the volume.
Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

I drive a 2010 model partly because (knock on wood) it still runs great and hasn't had any major issues. The other part is that it has buttons and knobs! I don't have to look away from the road to change the air. And my steering wheel has buttons for changing radio stations and the volume.
Oooh I'm so annoyed! My mom wanted my foundation for herself in her color, so I bought one at Ulta because I had a gift card from Christmas. It was $25. (Ulta's after the holidays sale kinda sucks, ngl.) Then AFTER I bought it, I realized I should check the Korean sites for after Christmas sales.

I didn't want to TMI on someone else's post but it reminded me: this is the first time in my whole life that my 🍑 cheeks have been winter dry. You know how the heater and the outside cold air can take the moisture out of your skin? This year is the first time it's ever happened to my derriere. 😂
