Whomever decided to run a playtest of The Scorched Banner with randoms on the first week of work after a long hiatus was:
a) lacking foresight

Whomever decided to run a playtest of The Scorched Banner with randoms on the first week of work after a long hiatus was:

So the playtests went reasonably well. Given two groups of people that barely read the rules, explaining the core for roleplaying and combat took about 30 minutes total.
Even players with just one-two TTRPG sessions under their belt are able to grasp the basics.

I am about to run another playtest for the Scorched Banner this Saturday.
A positive? One of the playtesters is asking good questions about the system.
The downside? You can see that the fella sees everything through the 5e lense, which causes much confusion to him.
