Now that I'm home from work, I remembered that I have one more good #BirdOfTheDay for the #least category.

As much as I'm out in nature, and as many pictures as I take, I've very rarely captured images of #owls.

This Barred Owl at a park in San Antonio one morning was a rare exception.

So the #BirdOfTheDay theme today is about our #least photographed bird.

This one is easy for me, as I just wrote a post the other day about the Sinaloa Wren that hung out north of the border for a few months in 2015. www.tmpic.com/p/photograph...

It's always interesting sitting on a bench in Bisbee, AZ.

#takeoffs over water can add an extra splash to the show.

From a few days over Summer, sitting in a small hot hide in central #Spain, while the birds played in the water pool outside.

I'm fortunate to live in a place where rare birds will occasionally make their way north of the border.

I'm not really one to chase the rare bird🪶 reports, so I haven't (knowingly) photographed any lately.

But in 2015 this Sinaloa Wren just happened to be hanging out in one of my favorite spots.

The #BirdOfTheDay theme is #takeoffs. This works out well, as I've got a #pelican shot from last week at the Gilbert Water Ranch that I never shared.🪶 #BirdPhotography #Arizona #EastCoastKin

Picture of the Day

Going a little more abstract. I liked the way the light was hitting this cactus this morning.

This image from yesterday of a blue-eyed darner is probably one of the better shots I've ever captured of a #dragonfly actually in flight.

I need to wake up one of these mornings to see that the bird of the day theme is something like "buttery smooth bokeh" ... lol, my big sigma shines in that category. 🪶

The #BirdOfTheDay theme is #lunchtime.
It seems like most of the images I have of birds🪶 eating, are of great blue heron ... and of those, there were two I couldn't decide between, so I'll just share both.

Every time I see one of these birds 🪶 on our backyard fence I end up with a Stevie Nicks song stuck in my head for the rest of the day. 😎

For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #CloseUps, I'm going to go with this Cassin's Kingbird that was nice enough to pose on a branch almost right in front of me. 🪶

I love my area of Southeast Arizona. But if I lived in Phoenix, I would definitely be out at the Gilbert Water Ranch at least 3 or 4 times a week.

I do my best not to be even a little bit "political" on this account. But holy hell, I don't think SNL will be able to top the real deal when it comes to the comedic value of this sandwich trial.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."
