Thoughts from beneath the bald.
There really is no immoral ground that Premier League clubs won't cultivate, is there?

Finished the fourth series of The Bear tonight and now I'm left with the unfulfillable wish to be part of that crew, to be their mate. Speaks volumes for how well the characters are written that I find myself rooting for every one of them, without feeling like it's been forced on me. Perfection.

Last One Laughing could well be the new Taskmaster. Outstanding.

Adolescence is a TV masterpiece. Unsettling, gut-wrenching but equally thought-provoking. One that will stay with me for a while.

Watched The Substance. Overall an enjoyable film with a Black Mirror-like satirical quality to it. Final act felt a bit silly and I laughed more than I recoiled, but I suspect it was meant to draw that sort of reaction. Also good to see the Boosh's Tony Harrison make a comeback in the final scene.

Went back to it this evening. Without a hangover, the story was enough to keep me interested until the end and would merit a passable three stars on its own. Half-star penalty for the singing though and I'd say that's being lenient.
It may be the fact that I'm massively hungover but I got 25 minutes into Emilia Perez and had to turn it off. Just found myself laughing and/or cringing during the first few musical numbers. All a bit bizarre. Might return to it at a later date with a clearer head.

Managed to suspend my intense dislike for everything else about James Corden just long enough to enjoy the Gavin and Stacey finale. Still an all-time top ten sitcom in my book.

Showed the girls a couple of old John Lewis Xmas ads the other day, not thinking much of it. They're now hooked. CBeebies? No thanks. Disney? Nope. Netflix? Bolt. A continuous YouTube loop of John Lewis (and other retailers') Xmas ads from over the years please. This is my life for the next month.

I appreciate it's early days but moving over here currently feels like climbing into a freshly-made bed where the sheets have had the bigotry washed out of them.
