been reading this shaking my head at silly and wrong stereotypes on Italians - if this is the level of Italian cliches imagine for countries further away. Venetians calling for San Gennaro? Why call for the patron saint of Naples when they have San Marco? Who says they called for a saint? Uggghh.

A few quick thoughts on how China is likely to deal with the current situation with India-Pakistan (since I am getting some questions...)
Thanks for the nice mention, Patrick. Here’s a quick rundown of how things have evolved since the book was published. Basic equation is the same: China supports Pakistan with military kit, diplomatic shielding, does not provide significant assistance to Pakistan in conflict scenarios beyond that 1/9

It would be fantastic if major federal institutions would acknowledge that the executive branch cannot legally unilaterally cancel or redistribute congressionally appropriated funding on ideological grounds and thus they have no legal obligation to comply with such directives
Trump funding freeze a blatant violation of Constitution, federal law: Legal experts
The Constitution, federal law and court decisions make it clear: President Donald Trump's order to pause federal funding is against the law, legal experts tell ABC News.
