I am proud to share our new work on the comorbidities and shared genetics between anxiety disorders and general medical conditions using the FinnGen sample. Especially some gastrointestinal disorders, like IBS, shared a significant genetic background with anxiety disorders.

Bidirectional Association and Genetic Background of Anxiety Disorders and General Medical Conditions
Importance: Anxiety disorders are often comorbid with general medical conditions, but the extent and directionality of these associations and shared genetic risk factors are not well understood. Objec...

Thank you Marija! An excellent, thought-provoking and inspiring talk, as always 👏🏻

I’m excited to share our genetic study on panic disorder in the FinnGen sample. We found a genomewide significant hit within the SORCS3 gene and showed that SORCS3 serum protein levels were 40% higher in panic disorder patients compared to controls medrxiv.org/cgi/content/...
Genome-wide Association Study Identifies SORCS3 as a Novel Susceptibility Locus for Panic Disorder in the FinnGen Study
Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder with poorly understood etiology. Although twin studies suggest modest heritability (∼40%), few genetic variants have been associated with it. We carried out a gen...
