New research shows that near-term mitigation could spare future generations around 0.6 meters of sea-level rise caused by emissions between 2020 and 2090, making today’s decisions critical not only for limiting warming but also for coastal impacts.

We have reached the first climate tipping point🚨
To prevent further tipping points we must do everything we can to rapidly reduce heating and “𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘁”.

It was a privilege to attend the Overshoot Conference at @iiasa.ac.at! We had really insightful interdisciplinary sessions on such a fundamental challenge for climate science and policy. Lots of food for thought & work to do! 💡
