IIASA researchers explored why mortality among adults of working age remains high in India alongside rapid economic growth, finding that education is more strongly associated with lower premature mortality than income or household wealth.

A team including experts from IIASA and @wuvienna.bsky.social has calculated the economic impact of diabetes across 204 countries from 2020 to 2050, finding that compared to other diseases, such as Alzheimer’s or cancer, the economic impact is enormous.
