Today I learned that swap meets exist and they are cheaper than most thrift stores. Between thrifting, attending estate sales/ yard sales, and now swap meets, there is very little reason to buy brand new dishes or decor from big box stores. Better quality items exist for cheap. #pnw

I finished "The Everlasting" by Alix E. Harrow today. It has been a very long times since I've read a book so beautiful. It will go up in the top ten books I've ever read. 📚🪐 #booksky

Blackout the system starting today! If you must, shop at small business and use cash.
We are also only watching things on PBS or what we already own. Please spread the message!

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

Churches- it's time for y'all to work for your tax exemptions.
If I don't see a food pantry or something equivalent I'm gonna make a phone call to the man upstairs. He owes me.
Some churches are amazing and do provide to their parish and the community, but I've seen plenty who don't.

It's National Cat Day. Here are my cats. Photo taken about 5 years ago. Ginger cat is still ginger and needy. The floofy black and white cat is needier than she used to be. They both like to bask in the sunlight, but our new home doesn't have a good basking window.

I'm a bit concerned by the Washington State ballot measure- if long-term care should be invested. On the surface level, I thought it was ok. But... who is in charge of investing this? Who wants this money? Too sketchy for me #politics

It's been almost a week since I watched Avatar the Last Airbender for the first time.
It came out when I was in college, so it was never on my radar. I saw it here and there, confused it with a movie bearing a similar name.
It might be my personality for the next few months.
