Did you know some of the most iconic sci-fi weapons are built on real firearms? Often this is the best way for artists to create something that can both "function" and be familiar enough for actors to use

One of my new favorite additions to the Star Wars arsenal: the E-11P carried by Imperial shoretroopers. I was told it bears a striking resemblance to the real Sterling Mark 7 Para Pistol, an ultracompact version of the Sterling SMG. The Sterling is what the full-sized E-11 was also built around.
