Better Grain. Better Beer.
Family Brewery in Cornwall with a focus on where our ingredients, especially our grain, comes from & how it was farmed.
Our brewing inspiration comes from Belgium farmhouse traditions and classic British beers.
We have some very happy news to share. We're moving the brewery to our home town of Lostwithiel, on the banks of the River Fowey. The chance to have a 5 minute walk to work, be close to the boy's school and jump straight in the river after a hot brew day was too good to miss.

Why do we love Grisettes? They are a hidden gem, a classic little beer beloved by modern brewers and 19th Century French peasants alike. The Gallic cousin of the Anglo-centric Table Beer. Effervescent, crisp and super refreshing, grisettes feel like the perfect Spring beer!

Our 100th Brew - Dawn Chorus Grisette 3.4%

A true brewers beer, absolute refreshment, the lovechild of a Table Beer and a Saison. Fresh cut flowers where you can still smell the herbaceous of the leaves as well as the petals. Dry with a gentle, bready malt character and silky wheat smoothness.

Crispiest Way Out West yet! And we finally got round to writing some tasting notes! Here we go...Classic pithy orange and pine with an estery lift, snappy with percussive bitterness, dry finish with just a touch of cracked black pepper.

We will be bringing our beers to These Hills 2025!
Over the moon to be invited along side kindred spirits and heroes of ours. Plus it's a family friendly festival so we can bring Rowan and Oti are two little ones!

Spent Friday brewing a new beer called Keep Flying. It's our take on a wheat beer made with Bay leaves from Nia's mum and dad's garden and coriander seeds. Fruity, herbaceous and delicious, everything we want in our beers.

A lot of looking to the sky going on, waiting for the first signs of Spring

In the meantime I think we'll just cozy up with a Double Mild and plan the veg patch until the wild garlic pops up.

Big Spade: Double Mild heading out today to all the amazing bars, pubs and bottleshops who work with us. We added in a beautiful print from our artist Max.

Just finished bottling Way Out West: Crisp Pale! This is a very different style of pale beer - it is dry and crisp with a percussive bitterness. An abundance of floral and citrus notes work to compliment the herbaceous and snappy cracked pepper base notes.

Brewing & its boundaries of style can be rigid & prescriptive. We believe beer is best when full of life, flexible & buoyant, questions of identity unheard over the joyous noise of its existence.

'This my friend, is a pint' Merry exclaimed with a twinkle in his eye.

Big Spade: Double Mild. Malty, toasty and sweet caramel joy. Just enough bitterness to hold it together, but not a hop flower too many. Nourishment for the soul in a joyous clink of a dimpled tankard.

Big Spade: Double Mild best drunk after digging a big hole in the veg patch. Can be enjoyed in other scenarios but digging is the main and I'd say only hobby in our house at the moment.
