Whidbey Island League of Women Voters and Sno-Isle Libraries are hosting three virtual candidate forums this week focused on local races on the Nov. 4 ballot.

All of the forums start at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

A large crowd turned out at Freedom Hall as State Rep. Clyde Shavers kicked off his 2026 re-election campaign Friday night in Freeland. The Whidbey Island Democrat, Vice Chair of the House Education Committee, was introduced by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal.
