There is nothing like watching Film Noir late at night. My favourite is Double Indemnity. Yet some of my colleagues refuse to watch black and white films because they are err...in black and white

Thoroughly enjoying this commentary by @simonpulleyn.bsky.social Wish we had more like it. The decision to print a translation and a dictionary keyed to the text/commentary is so helpful for today’s learner of Greek and Latin. Cambridge Green and Yellow would do well to pick up on this practice.

I’d pay good money for one of these.

Also, I remember and happened to like the damp, dilapidated London of the 1970s. It’s still there if you know where to look.

On the last day of module 3 of the #CovidInquiry, the Chair - Baroness Hallett - said that Professor Fong's testimony was the most powerful she'd seen. I, like many covid-bereaved, am grateful not only for the impact of his evidence, but for its TRUTH. ❤️
Forgetting is a curse & a necessity. We want to move on but must at the same time remember the events of the pandemic accurately, to learn the right lessons & better prepare for whatever the future holds. My thanks to the @covidinquiryuk team for this work. youtu.be/4wSYxatO2cU?...

Spent four hours yesterday recording the audiobook of this.
Such a revelation. Declaiming Agathon’s speech in camp tones made so much sense of its florid phraseology!
