If they have artwork that they "create", immediately go to the multimedia tab and see if *ANY* of their stuff has any kind of warning about being a "preview" or "wip" or even "patent pending" (thread below)

Pilot makes a modular multipen called a Coleto that you can swap out different color inks but they also make mechanical pencil components for it. So I loaded it up with 2h, 2b, and 4b lead plus an eraser component and now I have the ultimate pencil, the Omega Pencil.
