Metal Artist in Newfoundland. My goal is to create metal art inspired by newfound land in Newfoundlanders.

If you are overly political or negative, I will just block you :)
Newfoundland waters are not only a major part or our lives and industry it does wonders when adding a patina to my steel sculptures 🙂 The rust and fish skeleton represent the deteriorated fishery but the emduring steel is strong and enduring like the people of #Newfoundland

Far from my usual work but in the middle are 2 spikes made into bottle openers. This is the kind of thing anyone can do with a drill and a grinder of even a drill and a hacksaw. The other 26 spikes are knives made from spikes but thinking I may do it again to make wings for some sort of sculpture?

Making a wooden base for sculpture and using @waltersurfacetech.bsky.social disks that I usually use on steel. This is a #canadian company and the the supplies I use from them are the best I’ve used from anywhere

My latest sculpture The Iris is done and found a new home in record time. I thank people for all the support, likes and shares. It is boxed up, better than some houses I have lived in :-) and on its way to Ontario :-)

I’m going to say it 🙂 It Is Almost SPRING 🙂 and I consider that a win considering everything else that’s going on. I am very happy with my Iris so far. Soon , I’m going to take it out on tour like I did with other sculptures. #govnl #newfoundland #buylocalnl #yyt #canadianartist #canadianart

It started out cold in the forge, but I’ve gotta work fast before the steel cools so I create my own heat :) when I’m done I hope this will be one of my collection of newfound land flowers, and Iris

Looking forward to doing something different, but I really should start these new projects when it’s not as cold :) #newfoundland #artistnl #buylocalnl @waltersurfacetech.bsky.social @govnl.bsky.social

My favourite sculpture so far “Thank Cod” is made primarily of steel from the hull of a very old fishing ship. The rust and skeleton represents the deteriorated fishery but the enduring steel represents the people of the Newfoundland and Labrador and the fishery.
