I can’t stop thinking about the 2025 Toronto Blue Jays. The outcome of the World Series feels like genuine grief - the mourning of the parade we didn’t have, the history we witnessed that won’t be fully commemorated, the merch we won’t buy, and the joy that was so close we could almost taste it.

I've now watched my 2 favorite teams lose a championship deciding Game 7 at home (not to mention the record setting regular season squad getting bounced in a Game 7 in round one). Do not recommend.

The last month of baseball was an unexpected gift, as was connecting with family, friends and neighbours over this special team. The result seems unfair, and we can what if until the end of time, but these Blue Jays are winners to me. Maybe it really is all about the friends we make along the way.
