This Sondheim Sonday #4 I present the full breakdown of all the rhymes, internal rhymes, alliteration and such I managed to catch in Pacific Overtures’ “Please Hello”, AKA. How-the-fuck-did-one-man-managed-to-write-a-10-minutes-song-with-5-distinct-genre-and-make-it-work song
Okay, in retrospect, I MIGHT be a little too harsh on Pacific Overture. Might bump it up to a low 5/10 now that I recognize most of my problem is the acting direction of the Original Broadway version.
Though I mostly bumped the score up cuz Chrysanthemum Tea and Please Hello is THAT good.

Wow. I really have to set aside my love for him on this one.. yeah, I don't like it lol. By far my least favorite Sondheim show and, honestly, my least musical i've ever watched so far..

Do I Hear A Waltz is a show that I wouldn't go out of my way to watch exactly, but the song "We're Gonna Be Alright" (specifically, the Marin Mazzie and Jason Daniely version) is one of his best witty lyrical works (it's also one of my current obsession)
