They always apologize to me saying they never cry. They realize that they had been missing out on how freeing expressing emotions other than anger feels by not allowing themselves to seek help or to have an emotional outlet. They end up realizing expressing their emotions is actually a necessity.
One of the wildest parts of my job providing therapy to entire family systems referred by the court is seeing how the men who would never voluntarily go to to therapy immediately break down crying. Their bodies were just waiting for a safe space and waste no time lowering their defenses.

I get told in my dreams THAT SAME NIGHT if I put someone on my ancestor altar that the rest of them don’t want on there or if I spelled somebody’s name wrong. Never fails. Went back this morning and checked more records and sure enough, the wrong spelling was on the record I took the name from.
