It felt like I was looking out of the window of an airplane.

I finished one of the three bindings from a workshop I'm taking from Ali Manning and Liz Constable. They begin with a thrift shop painting, but I used an ugly one of mine. I used collage, stencils, and paint then cut it off the frame and into three pieces. I'm loving the process so much.

It's been fun watching them being pulled every day. We never did dig out the calendar, so I covered this and they're picked randomly. Whatever works, I guess. 😄

At first I thought I might have bitten off more than I could chew, but I'm getting there.

I never saw so many pelicans in one place before. They were there for the sardines.

The red die-cut Kraft-Tex covered journal I made using a sort of wrapped long stitch.

This red Kraft-Tex cover, cut with a die, is backed with clear acetate and covers a watercolor piece left over from another project. I really like how this turned out. It's a great reminder to incorporate things like this into my bookbinding and to make the most of what I have.

Making little journals is one of my favorite things to make. This one is filled with 140 lb. watercolor paper.
