This feels much less polished than past refreshes. Creative director hat - curious if they just had less money to spend (likely), switched up their agency, or handled it in house entirely this time?

Man... If I hadn't seen this movie last weekend (which...for the record was opening weekend), I would be so pissed that Disney decided to spoil the movie's biggest twist...uh..3 days after the movie came out? Jeez.

I know Disney is getting flack for posting a 1hr video of Mon Mothama dancing as if it's a fun scene and not one depicting a woman spiraling out of control under the weight no longer being able to ignore the atrocities she has to commit to fight a fascism. But...uh... Isn't this all of us rn?

Y'all. What a gem this show is. 10/10. Hilarious. Heartfelt. Emotional. Gorgeous (like amazingly, artistically, gorgeous). And oddly down to earth and meaningful for something so wildly fantastical. I'm truly in awe of how well it fires on all cylinders. Don't sleep on it. #WinorLose #Pixar

1) It's disappointing that Disney axed a trans character from this series and they deserve to be called out for it.
2) The show itself - and the animation - is absolutely wonderful. Charming through and through. The artists involved should be proud of their work.
Both of these truths can exist.

I've watched this speech at least once a week since inauguration day and man... It wallops me every time. Tears. Goosebumps. Rage. It touches on something so primally deep in me...equal parts catharsis and direction.
