I had to source myself a new keyboard. My SteelSeries Apex 5 was having issues with the W key. An Important key for gaming. Sourced from a site I've never used before, but they were quick to dispatch. As for the keyboard, it's a really nice one to use.

Another day, another random image generation.

Today, in my mind, I had Link chopping veggies and Navi as the head chef telling him off. ChatGPT was very specific about it not being Link or Navi. So it's an elf and a fairy head chef (check alt text for full prompt).

I've been letting my base power and land taxes lapse a bit in Dune. The old base was collapsing. Today, I removed my it and my buggy storage base, then set up a new one in a single location that's compact. Happy with some of the details I've added to my new "cube".

I expanded the base to add an extra hanger up top for larger ornithopters (once I can afford to make one)

For now, I have my first ornithopter and a second MK5 ornithopter

Assault ornithopter to follow and still working on a garage space below

Been playing Dune Awakening

I've got another base in the north that holds my mining buggy, where there are better resources.

I'll get some shots of that once it's complete and not just a white cube

Took delivery of a Beelink ME mini 6 bay NVMe NAS

I've installed UNRAID with 2x 2TB drives until I can afford to expand to all 6 bays

Using it as my personal cloud running Immich, paperless-ngx and Vaultwarden

All backed up to Backblaze B2 using Duplicati

Very tight fit as the power connection on the NVMe extension board sticks out a bit (made a hole in the case to fit)

The new door is installed! and looks smart. Just need to tidy up around it now.

The old door could have been nice one day, but it would have been a lot of money to get it repaired, and it would still never be as insulating as this one.

An update on the lobby reno work. A new front door has been ordered and is being installed on the 13th May

It's a little awkward as we are having to work around the mains service cable which was attached to the old door frame when the place was converted into flats back in the 80s

Homelab upgrades are currently too expensive for me. Having to focus my efforts and money on fixing up my home in the coming months.

The first part will be fixing up this old entryway. Install a new front door, replace the carpet with something nice, and some fresh paint.

My pi 3B+ pi-holes have been running a little warm. The fan on the POE HAT is quite noisy when it kicks to full speed.

I've drilled out and added a 40mm fan to the top of the case. It's a PWM fan, but I haven't worked out how to configure it yet, so it's just running 100%. Not as noisy as the HATs.

I spent some time over the holidays increasing my steam power setup #atm9 #create #minecraft

It now has 12 level 9 boilers, all running 9 Steam engines each, all then converted to FE via 54 alternators.

Ok, a reactor would be easier and more efficient, but its steam.....come on...STEAM!

Space is getting a bit low on my media server. I still have time, but I will have to invest in larger drives soon. I kind of wish I had a different setup so I didn't have to replace all drives to have any benefit. Live and learn. Probably £400 to replace all drives with refurb 12TBs
