I genuinely think that having unmanaged childhood OCD made me a much more developed writer than I otherwise would have been. Im starting far from the finish line because I had a narration problem, it’s a whole thing. Bc there are no do-overs for formerly sick kids, I choose to be thankful for this.

When I was very young, already dreaming of parenthood, I knew that one day I would have both the ability and motivation to write, but would be unable to. Watching my toddler eating oatmeal with their hands and feeling content with my choices.

A healthy sense of what you don’t like can help you come to terms with your own work having its audience. Not everything is universal. The ability to make something that people with vastly different tastes can enjoy is the work of major studios, not artists.
It’s important to dislike things because they’re not to your tastes. There doesn’t have to be a reason, no sin committed by the creator or oversight in its crafting. Sometimes you just don’t like something.
