I've always found the location of this sculpture by Ilan Averbuch intriguing. Next to the Moda Center arena. Warning that even the mighty can fall? Or promise of triumph to come?

You may occasionally see metal curb guards on PDX streets, remnants of days past when people got around in carriages and on horseback. The imprinted street name in this example is also old — the street is now Northwest 19th Avenue.

Architect William Christmas Knighton designed many great buildings around Portland and put his trademark "Transformer" motif on quite a few. Have you seen some? Here's one from the Seward/Governor/Sentinel Hotel downtown 💚.
