A quick explanation 🧵

What is Huskerigami?

@nflscorigami.bsky.social is a project originally created by @jonbois.bsky.social to track every unique final score combination in NFL history.

i.e., 28-14 is a fairly common score. But (as of this post), there's never been a NFL game that ended 29-12.
28-21 is NOT a Huskerigami.

It has happened six other times. The last was against Northwestern two weeks ago.

No Huskerigami today.

Five other occurrences of 28-21.

One of the cool things about the Huskerigami project is how it leads to some interesting moments in Husker history.

For example, in NU's last 24-6 game (way back in 1913), Kansas State joined KU in protesting Nebraska having a black player.

38-27 is a Huskerigami!

It's the 581st unique score combination in school history.

Surprisingly, 68-0 is NOT a Huskerigami.

NU beat New Mexico State 68-0 in 1982.

Nebraska's 20-17 win over Cincinnati was NOT a Huskerigami.

It has happened five times before.

Did you know that a Huskerigami occurred on this date in 1891?

Yes, February 14.

The Nebraska Old Gold Knights beat the Doane College Hercules by a score of 14-0.

It was NU's second-ever game, and the conclusion of their 1890 season, which consisted of one other game (10-0 over the Omaha YMCA)

The 28-20 loss to USC was not a Huskerigami.

That score has happened five other times, most recently in a 2015 loss to #3 Iowa.

Nebraska's last two games with Southern Cal have resulted in Huskerigami scores:

45-42 in the 2014 Holiday Bowl
49-31 in 2007

I started Huskerigami after Nebraska beat Northern Illinois 35-11 in September 2023 - a Huskerigami outcome!

Since then, 18 games, zero unique scores, including what feels like a bunch of 13-10 & 28-10 games.

Maybe Bluesky is the secret to unlocking more.
