My Masto timeline is mostly iOS devs and there’s a ton of Liquid Glass consternation but my guess is the reaction, especially after the second week when the outrage people have burned out, will basically be a shrug. Some will dig the specular highlights but most won’t care.

Has Apple committed to versioning device models? If a feature works on 26.0 but breaks in 26.1 due to model or guardrail changes, what can I do? Can I specify a version like in server-based LLM provider APIs?

Xcode 16.3b3 has been out for a day and it seems nobody at Apple has noticed they forgot to post the visionOS SDK. Not great.

Interesting, looks like a new API for Apple Intelligence in 18.4, exposing the summarization and prioritization features to third party apps.

Beware if you use anything that does virtualization like Parallels, Docker Desktop, OrbStack, UTM, etc... They seem to panic 15.4b1 as soon as they start.

45 this year so did my first colonoscopy. I dreaded it but have to say, it’s like 10% as bad as I thought it would be and now I’m off the hook for a decade. Recommend the tablets over the chalky drink.

Played with Sora quite a bit today. I don’t have any use for it at work but it’s pretty amazing technology. It took a photo of me and turned that into me hanging out in some random kitchen. Uncanny.

Finally got to see Juror #2. Really enjoyed it. Written by a friend of a family member so perhaps some bias but it’s just really good.

@joannastern.bsky.social Fun on The Talk Show! If you want to force 18.2 Siri to use ChatGPT, you can prepend your query: “Ask ChatGPT blah blah blah”. Unclear which prompts go there by default but I would suggest not enough.

I guess I should have done this first but if I convert my handle into a custom domain now, what happens to starter packs etc that I’ve been included on. Broken links or does that get forwarded?

As someone who has done a lot of streaming events going back 24 years, I am sympathetic. It’s hard even if you have a budget.
