Lobbying Commissioner Nancy Bélanger expanded on her decision to lower the “significant part of duties” threshold this year in an interview with The Lobby Monitor.
The Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner issued 14 fines to officials who contravened the Conflict of Interest Act and opened 16 files to investigate possible violations of the act over the past year, according to the commissioner’s 2024-25 annual report.
