Anthony Edwards has had uniquely linear development.

His latest evolution? His inside the arc scoring.

Below I detailed his massive efficiency leap, how he has found a balance w/ his rim and mid-range scoring, all whilst setting career high 2P FG%.

It's a shame that Jaylen Clark has no craft or vertical burst. His physical build just feels so neglected on offense.

Could somehow be more of a bruiser, but his height and leaping deficiencies force him into a ton of floaters.

10/24 on them this season per tracking data.

macaroni tony and an old friend catching up

I like the cutback against the defense from Jaden McDaniels here, getting to his comfortable short mid range touch finish.

Attacking the closeout off the Naz Reid skip, wiggling around Buddy Hield's help.

Impressive BLK from Jaden McDaniels.

Standing leap, reaching Quentin Post's hook shot at its apex.

The Timberwolves had 29 fastbreak PTS vs GSW last evening.

Their third-highest output in a game this season.

Julius Randle can be shaky sometimes with recognizing backside help.

Back to back transition buckets for Bones Hyland vs Golden State.

The speed stands out.

Anthony Edwards detailed this off-season that he was going to focus on his mid-range game.

While the mid-range efficiency is at a career-high, much of his 2P success has come back to his rim FG%, continuing its linear path after a down season last year.
January 23, 2026 at 6:49 PM
Through Anthony Edwards first five seasons in the NBA, he had a career average of 50.7% on 2P field-goals.

This season, he sits at 56.1%, a +5.4% improvement.

A truly astonishing jump so far.

It is a damn shame this game came on an NFL playoff date because the Wemby vs Ant duel was absolutely fantastic. Just ridiculous bucket getting from both of the young superstars.

Good showcase of Joan Beringer's mobility.

Catching up to De'Aaron Fox's rapid first step off the catch on the perimeter and getting the block at the rim.

I think this is the first relevant possession of NBA basketball for Leonard Miller.

Questionable switch, easy Kornet roll.

Alright
January 18, 2026 at 8:33 AM
Anthony Edwards' fly-by awareness is pure art
January 18, 2026 at 8:19 AM
Impressive OREB tip-in ball tracking from Joan Beringer.
January 18, 2026 at 8:12 AM
Clean late clock connection between Anthony Edwards and Joan Beringer.

I like the pass intentionality from 5.
January 18, 2026 at 8:08 AM
The Wolves really struggled to find a unit that could work defensively after Beringer found himself in some foul trouble. Wemby’s 2Q was also ridiculous. The step up threes were killer.

Beringer subbed out at 9:10, Wemby outscored them 17 - 15 for the remainder of the period.
January 18, 2026 at 7:55 AM
We saw a glimpse of Jaden at the 4 Randle at the 5 minutes since Naz Reid was injured and Rudy Gobert did not play.

Two easy Kornet buckets to extend the Spurs lead.

Randle has to drop to Kornet on the second possession.
January 18, 2026 at 7:55 AM
Victor Wembanyama swiped down on the PnR ball-handler then disrupted the lob, what a fucking freak bro.
January 18, 2026 at 7:53 AM
I wrote about it in my recent piece and detailed it in my Milwaukee notes.

Joan Beringer's OREB motor is sick, and it will extend so many possessions.
January 18, 2026 at 7:47 AM
Nice team defense possession in the zone look from Jaylen Clark in helpside and Joan Beringer holding his ground on Luke Kornet off the Dylan Harper connective dumpoff.

I like how Beringer explodes laterally.
January 18, 2026 at 7:44 AM
Keldon Johnson is having such a fun season, by far my favorite Spurs storyline of the year. He showed some real promise admist the Spurs tanking seasons, so its cool to see him impact winning.

Shooting 64% on 2P attempts at 6'6"!
January 18, 2026 at 7:41 AM
Two more Jaden McDaniels to Joan Beringer connections vs San Antonio.
