Lieber's novelette is basically a play set in a 'recuperation station' in a time war. It features Lunans from a billion years in the past as well as an ancient Cretan warrior! And manages to be pretty respectful about sexwork!
Episode 4 just released! In this episode, we discuss Fritz Lieber's The Big Time and Christine gets nerdy about the history of the USO. Our guest is Nora of @leafittouspod.bsky.social!

I'm in on this! In preparation, I also read (most of) the collection The Science Fiction of Mark Clifton, none of the stories in which I'd ever encountered before. Does They'd Rather Be Right hold up by comparison? Find out on August 14th!
Ep 2, on Mark Clifton and Frank Riley's They'd Rather Be Right, will drop on Thurs, Aug 14. Host (as always): @klaxoncomms.com and guest: @robtomshany.bsky.social! Hear us talk about the book that has been long-considered 'the worst book to win a Hugo'!
