The man behind the HubNut YouTube channel. Likes niceness and tea. Possibly biscuits.
Sat here willing the washing machine to rinse because our water pressure seems to have dropped off again. None of this related to my plumbing I'll point out! We've already had a couple of days with no water, one day where it seemed to recover and now it's crap again.

So lovely to see the dollar dropping just as we approach pay day. Cheers Trump. I'm sure someone is getting rich somewhere.

Well that was remarkable! Aurora in full effect. Never seen a display like it l.

How did Tim's new purchase go? Well... All revealed in yesterday's HubNut video.

HubNutters are great. Phil found this indicator in a scrappers and posted it over from Norwich. Much appreciated! Much cheaper than a new one at £160.

Tim's new car! It broke immediately. youtu.be/Q83pDZuOu5k
Winter bargain! Broke on the test drive, bought it anyway!

Today's utter transport chaos was by car. M6 closed, then people crashed on the diversion route. Our 8hr 360-mile trip ended up taking 12 hours... But we did see a Daihatsu.

Today, I've mostly been reminding myself that public transport is RUBBISH! 6hrs to do what in a car would be a 3hr journey. I'd have been much warmer too. Sadly the car I was collecting did not make it far...

I still want one. @agingwheels.bsky.social annoyingly has two! Or is it one and a bit?
TH!NK was an Norwegian electric car maker which seemed to have a bright future when it was acquired by Ford in 1999. Small numbers of its City model were leased to US customers in a pilot, but it ultimately led nowhere. Ford ended the venture in 2002, leaving this brochure as a reminder. #weirdcarbs

Not for the first time, a new oddity for me.
South American Volkswagens have long been different from their European counterparts, despite many shared styling cues. The 1.8-litre Parati in this 1991 VW Brazil export brochure was a case in point. It was an estate car based on the locally-designed Gol hatchback. #weirdcarbs

It's been a long and tiring day, and I'm still nowhere near my bed for the night, but I did see this, so everything is ok.

Yesterday was one of those days where everything seems to go wrong. Emergency drive out for plumbing repairs! I'm no plumbist but the joint does actually seem watertight. Phew. I can't stop checking it...

Tonight's video. Very HubNut.

Yesterday, we had a lovely day at Hawarden Airport.

Any ideas?
MMM. That's right, it's Mystery Mule Monday. And today's mystery is this weird thing, spotted near Lotus's place in Norfolk in 2007. Claimed at the time to be a hack for an upcoming VW Phaeton coupe, but I'm not convinced. For one thing, the wheelbase is way too short.

Have had two lovely walks today. So nice when the sun is shining rather than all manner of weather trying to attack you. Feel so much better for it.

Why are people still using X? I just don't get it.
January 10, 2026 at 10:45 AM
YES! We love ours.
For some years Malaysian carmaker Perodua maintained a tiny foothold in the UK market, with quirky low-priced offerings like this Kenari 'mini-MPV', sold from 2001, based on a Daihatsu Move kei car. Perodua's import operation was small and its sales leaflets were rather flimsy affairs. #weirdcarbs

It was actually quite difficult to find snow to drive in today. Very slushy. Thought grip was good until I got out of the car and almost fell over... All-season tyres are definitely recommended! These are RoadX, fully paid for.

Turns out Booking.com STILL haven't fixed this. I would avoid the platform entirely until they actually do something. I very nearly got scammed. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

This went so well that it has rained non-stop since fitting them and will be 12 degrees by Sunday.
Just in time. All season tyres for the Panda. I think we've had a fair few seasons today already!

Too right. I adore the MK1 Master. Could not be more French.
The New #Renault Master is definitely distinctive, but I'm not sure I'd describe it as being a, "far more distinctive machine than any van to wear this moniker before it". See exhibit A.
