#HRHour 📢

Since I have started my new role and the ever growing demands of a young family, my time to dedicate quality time on hosting this weekly chat is shrinking.

I’m looking to see if anyone would like to take over the mantle of the HRHour?

#Hiring specifically, and #HR generally, is where our psychometrics solution seems to provide the biggest opportunity to make a positive impact (although individuals love what we do, too!). #HRHour
Our second question:

What’s your biggest motivator for working in HR?

I transitioned from SaaS project, content, and product management into my current role providing HR services via SaaS, so I assume I'd still be doing the same thing just for a different or loosely different industry. #HRHour
Our first question:

If you never ended up in HR, what would you be doing now?

Welcome to the #HRHour

A weekly chat where we discuss two #HR questions. When responding, please use our #HRHour so others can follow the chat.

Let’s get started with our first question…
April 10, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Hello, work has overran today which means I have no time to facilitate our #HRHour tonight.

I will still post the questions but can’t join in on the quality conversations
April 10, 2025 at 5:14 PM
Thanks for the chat tonight. Shout out to @sharongchiara.bsky.social and @erep.com

We’ll be back next week for more.

A question for another time!
Gosh that's a question too far for me tonight #HRHour

I've had an on fire productive day and it's exhausted my brain power

Thank goodness we have reached the end of another convo 😮‍💨

Look at the letters needed to spell HungRy 🤔 coincidence 🤔

This is so making me hungry #HRHour

Like when you find a good restaurant, you can tell by the line outside and the wonderful smell wafting through the doorway.

Who's hungry? 😜 #HRHour
And how will we know when we get there?

🎯❤️‍

Which is why I started with it depends and that most start with the counting, easy to measure stuff #HRHour
April 3, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Indeed. Is sticking to the seat the role of their manager, team. Or still the responsibility of HR? 🤔

#HRHour
Some parts of the people function lend themselves to easier measure than others

Speed of 'street to seat' is only part of it, sticking in the seat and being productive is also part of the equation #HRHour

It's often not joined up

And how will we know when we get there?

#HRHour
erep.com eRep @erep.com · Apr 3
A good rule of thumb is to begin every effort with the question, "What will success look like?"

The answer may be vague or highly precise. Revisit that question and at whatever point you think you're "done". #HRHour
Another way of looking at it is, how do we know that the solution has worked?

When it comes to a new or updated SaaS feature, "done" is pre-defined.

Otherwise, we consider it the beginning of a relationship (process) rather than a finite task (project). #HRHour
When do you consider a solution delivered? At the moment of delivery (of solution) or when you get impact data back (successful ones)

#HRHour

A lack of response doesn't necessarily indicate a lack of problems. We stay in touch during and after implementation with active communication. #HRHour

The easiest measures don’t always tell the truest picture. #HRHour
Good points.....I think a lot of places measure the easiest measures and it's usually metrics

#HRHour
April 3, 2025 at 7:48 PM
L&D are regularly pressed for ROI and it appears that they are more on the hook for those results than other parts of HR. Recruitment can get pressed for speed of ‘street to seat’ placements.

#HRHour
It does depend on the issue/ query/ problem/ work #HRHour

I am not saying I don't measure impact or success or outcome

I think it's about deciding what to measure, why and not thinking the measurement is the work

Our second question:

Once a work request is fulfilled, how does your HR team evaluate the effectiveness or impact of the solution provided?

#HRHour

#HRHour
Now this is where it could get a little tricky

Do you measure effectiveness by numbers of emails, time resolved....the counting, quantitative evaluation &/or/as well as the impact & resolution

Then how do you measure impact & resolution?

I'd say it depends & approach with caution #HRHour

A mentor of mine used to say, "If it can't be measured, it can't be done."

That's not the literal truth, but it drives home a particular mind-set for sure. #HRHour #ProjectManagment

Yeah it's a balance

I always want to have the option to know names and who is behind the generic inboxes, which isn't always possible in global/big operations

Sometimes it is used as a means of distancing people or putting them off #HRHour
