An interlude before I move onto other Ultima games.
My first blobber was Shining in the Darkness on the Genesis. I was never a fan until last year when I picked up Legend of Gtimrock 2.
The ending of this game and the joy of mapping it myself were perfect.
An absolute treat to add on my shelf.

An interlude before I move onto other Ultima games.

I think that the old PC games based off of DND 2nd edition have never quite been matched in regards to the excitement I feel when finding a new magic item. "+3 mace?! HELL YEAH"
Which is really weird because newer games like BG3 and NWN had much more interesting and varied magic items.

Crossing beating Kingsfield (JP1) off the bucket list of video games. That was not nearly as obtuse or difficult as I had always thought it would be. Simple, atmospheric 3d free form dungeon crawling goodness.

If i had the Underworld games when they first came out my mind would have been absolutely blown.
I also would have been too dumb to ever beat them.
The creativity in 2 was stellar and despite some segments being a slog I was just waiting everyday to finish work so I could play more.
