I was watching FOX News today, because I like hearing the hypocrisy. One of the people were talking about ICE. Long story short. Said. " Thank God my Nanny is not illegal she is documented, but she is scared about the raids" OMG wtf?

Funny how we are all the same when we are kids. Doesn't matter what color, religion, or social standings. We strive for the same things. To have fun, laugh, run, skip, look up at the clouds and see them come to life in our imaginations. Where did we loose that all?

White. So to go back a little earlier. Eventually their moms would all invite me to sleep over and for dinner and insist me calling them mom. I had to earn that from each and every one of them, funny thing I did that by being myself. A regular kid in the neighborhood.

That is when it got complicated. I never understood why my white friends parents would get so upset. They would say don't hang around my and I don't want that Nogger in my house. Sounds harsh. But this is what my friends would say their parents would say. I was confused especially when my mom was.

She raised me to be respectful to others. Keep my elbows off the table when eating, and keep a napkin on my right knee. As a kid growing up in the 60's & 70's I wasn't Really aware of the racial stuff. We played outside and there were no color boundarie. That is until I went to friends houses.

It is hard to comprehend or explain how it was growing up as a black man with a white mother from the 60's to present times. My mom being a single parent I felt that I was white. We don't always have the opportunity to see ourselves as the mirror does. I see the world as my mom raised me.

As a black and white man I have been conflicted. My friends were all white. But their parents were raised black people were the enemy. It took some time to win my friends parents over. I could explain more. But eventually they invited me to dinner and some said call me mom, and come on in anytime.
