One more thing about the Bondi Beach massacre in Australia. I, and many others, have been warning for years that the growing social acceptance of antisemitism will lead to deadly violence. We were told that we were overreacting. We were told that others have it worse. We were told to shut up.

I just returned to Michigan from NYC after participating in a few Jewish authors' events. I'll write more about them soon, but I'm excited about all the ways the Jewish literary community is fighting back after more than two years of marginalization. It was also heartening to find my "tribe."

I’ve known my friend and colleague @erikadreifus.bsky.social for about 10 years, but we met in person for the first time yesterday in NYC at the Toasting Jewish Authors event hosted by 70 Faces Media and the @jewishbookcouncil.bsky.social. It was wonderful to finally connect.
