The #Sounders deliver a late Christmas present and have today announced the new contract signing of Paul Rothrock! The Seattle-born midfielder signed a new three year contract, extending his Sounders future through the end of the 2028/29 season with a club option for 2029/30.

Austin announced the signing of Jon Bell on a free after two years at the #Sounders. Bell’s contract was for one year when he signed for Seattle in 2024, with his 1-year option being exercised for ‘25. However, now the Sounders will let Bell’s contract expire and will go to ATX.

The #Sounders and Defiance will not be competing in the 2026 US Open Cup. As it may be no surprise that the defending Leagues Cup champions will play in the next year’s tournament, but it’s a letdown for the Seattle area that the Defiance will also not compete in the USOC.
