There's been a great deal of debate about how safe Dublin city centre is, but when we @dublininquirer.com looked for data to resolve this, we couldn't find much useful – so we commissioned a survey to try to add some facts/data to the debate. Today we've published five articles about the results. 1/

My own take on this and the De Blasio/Mamdani story is that deletions are nowhere near good enough. The link has to go to an explanation.

It's actively harmful to our own cause as media to pretend we don't get things wrong. We cannot talking about misinformation and not hold ourselves accountable.
Good to see @dailymail.co.uk @thetimes.com and @telegraphnews.bsky.social all delete their articles - sad the lies went up in the first place
Totally untrue garbage from @thetimes.com & @dailymail.co.uk today - smear dressed up as journalism. Some facts:
- There is no “£900 desk”
- my constituency office has Ikea desks/chairs
- we significantly underspent the new MPs allowance to set up an office

This is great and all, but I live *in* Dublin, on a train line and can't get a train on the weekends.

Lazy, lethargic, disorganised, ill-disciplined, scared, non-dimensional, can't defend set pieces, can't attack from them.

The absolute nadir. Sack him before he hits the dressing room. #COYBIG

All the talk of VAR improvements and it's taken 13 minutes for them to drop an absolutely outrageous mistake, lol.

Gonna try and be as fair as possible here.

Journalists are not prosecutors and the bar for what we say or print is not as high. But.

If one side admits knowingly killing 5 journalists but says that one was terrorist, if you carry those words they have to be caveated with "without offering proof".

Once again home from Croker and gutted. But this time, in a completely different way, thanks sport!

The latest spate of attacks on Indian people is simply the outworking of a renormalisation of racism within our public discourse.

Home from Croker. Gutted, gobsmacked. Still no idea what I witnessed second half. Tipp absolutely flawless for 35 minutes. Literally not a misplaced pass or ball at least spoiled if not won. Cork absolutely frozen. A breakdown of tactics and basic execution in the face of Tipp's swarming.

Generally a big fan of the new football rules, but the hooter is awful. Meath v Galway was an incredible game that was decided by waiting to take a free until it was about to blow.

I'm nearly 40, so even though I still play American football, the most taxing thing I can do to my body is stand for a full gig.

Hurling, what? Bloody hell.

It will surprise you to learn that the ticketing for the NFL game in Ireland has been a shambles.

I got allocated position 5,919 in the queue at midday. I'm not at 543 with an estimated wait of 40 minutes and rumours that pretty much all of the tickets below €225 are gone.

I love Cork. I love hurling. I love Cork hurling.

People have no idea how to be at gigs anymore. Game's gone.

One of the coolest* things about X is how when a major tragedy happens, blue tick accounts scrape videos to upload as their own because the algorithm pushes them to the top of your newsfeed and then they get paid for impressions.

Pro tip: if a person with a blue tick on Twitter is being awful and you're spending time arguing with them, they're making money off your time and effort.
