The wombat living under my house has had a baby! Saw the two of them, side by side, grazing on the front lawn. Bub is half the size of mum. Also, a roo has taken up residence on my vacant block. He spends his days laying around while I call out to him "Handsome boy". We respect each other's space.

Walked outside the back door this morning and the dog and I were confronted by a roo. It was only about 10 ft away, not a fully grown male but at least 6 ft tall. The 3 of us were so shocked we just froze and stared at each other. The roo recovered first and took off. Only then did the dog bark!

The floodplain near my home offer hosts roos and dairy cows. The roos vastly outnumber the cows but they all mix in together having a feed. I keep meaning to take a pic but don't know what to call it. Roo cows or moo roos?

Every night I leave out 3 pieces of carrot for the wombat living under my house. Last night I forgot. She let me know her displeasure dy digging a big hole on the feeding spot. Now it's a wombats job to dig cos they eat roots but the feeding spot is just sand with zero plants. I just love her!

This morn there were over 1,000 roos on the local flood plain. A Joey was dangerously close to the road so I got out of the car and shooed her to safer territory. I'm a roo shooer and not for the first time!

Just voted. The school mums were doing a roaring trade in democracy sausages, kids were playing, neighbours chatting and not a gun or maggot in sight. So civilised! We truly are the lucky country.

Just back from the dog walk. We saw 2 magnificent roos on my neighbors front lawn; 1 having a lay while the other stands guard. Both males, almost 7 ft tall and about 150 lbs. I see roos almost every day and they still take my breath away. Just love em!!
