My great-great grandfather David Chandler was the Sheriff of Grand Traverse County, Michigan around 1904. Here he is standing next to his son-in-law, Deputy Philip Feiger, in front of the jail. Philip lived on the top floor with his wife Grace and she gave birth to their son Byron there.

I buy photos from my hometown on Ebay. This photo is Harold Titus, who was a four-year-old in 1893. Later in the life he became an author and five of his books became movies from 1920 to 1941.

One of my favorite artifacts that I have found during 38 years of archaeology, a mustache cup with "Think of me" on it. It dates to the 1890s. I could an almost duplicate one on Ebay. Mustache cups have a ceramic bridge that keeps your mustache out of the cup's contents.

A boy doll's head from a project in downtown Tucson (photo by Robert Ciaccio). It once had glass eyes and was sewn onto a cloth body.

I buy old photos with names on the back, research them, and post them to a blog, Identifying Thrift Store Photographs (thriftstorephotographs.blogspot.com).

This is Reverend Charles A. Fellows (1856-1956). I bet the ladies and a few of the men swooned over him back in his prime.

I drove down to Bisbee to finish a survey today. One of my favorite places, but I could only stop for a photo.

My great aunt Bessie Merle Feiger, on the left, in England around World War II. She served as a WAC in England during the war and in NATO afterwards in Brussels, Belgium. She didn't risk her life so that a bunch of Elon Musk Nazis would destroy our country in 2025.

An Ancestral Native American shell bracelet fragment I found in 2018 on an excavation. The birds are biting the feet of lizards.

First grade, 1970-1971. Edna Gray, the teacher, was a mean, nasty woman. I still remember the names of some of these kids.

My parents, circa 1967ish. I remember mother's dress, it was olive green and she wore it to weddings and funerals. She had a matching pillbox hat that went with it.

Back in 2009, Henny Penny showed up in my backyard. She was the best chicken, so much fun to have around.

One of the best artifacts I have found. A moustache cup from the 1890s with "Think of me" on it. On display at the Presidio Museum. I found a similar cup on Ebay, now in my secretary cabinet at home.
