As Hockeymomof2, I'm a mom of 3 & a Hurricanes fan (est '06) whose 2 sons played hockey as kids. Now I go to Canes games with them. Carrboro, NC is home. One of the last 6 old timers who still gets NHL Network. she/her
After Philly, Oilers are in Columbus tomorrow and then Raleigh Saturday for a 3-in-4. All are such stingy teams, 97/29 are gonna be wound up tight by Saturday night.
Flyers and Oilers heading to overtime tied 1-1. Travis Konecny goal with 23.5 seconds remaining in the 3rd taken off the board when replay review showed Flyers entered the zone offside

my take on last night
- It was Canes 4th gm in 6 days & all the excess energy in the Wild & Leafs games left most of them with little in the tank (plus the missing dmen)
- The Caps had the game circled since the schedule came out, having stewed on the 2nd round series all summer.

I've sat in this section/row - these are fantastic seats to watch the game! Great deal.
We have two tickets available for Friday #Canes vs Vancouver. Mezzanine 328 A 10-11. Canes shoot twice end, nobody sitting in front of you, great view. $130 for the pair if anyone wants them.

As a brawl broke out behind the net, after Nic Dowd hit Freddie Andersen, Logan Thompson got ever closer to the red line. Andersen noticed him and tried to go, but the officials intervened before they could. Yet another almost-goalie fight snuffed out by people who hate fun

Brutal. Right after his first goal, shoulda been the best week of his life. This game can be cruel.
Defenseman Charles Alexis Legault had surgery on Monday to repair multiple torn extensor tendons on his right hand.

He has been placed on injured reserve, and he is expected to miss three to four months. https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/legault-undergoes-surgery-on-right-hand

Never heard of this stats site, so take it with a grain of salt, but it's a list of solid Dmen with established careers, except for 2 names.
Need to point out that I don't see the Matthew Schaefer's or Luke Hughes' names anywhere here.

Legault in street clothes with a heavily bandaged arm. We’ll get more info from Brind’Amour after the skate.

“I think he’s starting to feel at home now.”

Nikolaj Ehlers needed some time to adjust to his new surroundings, but the Hurricanes’ key offseason addition is starting to show why the team so desperately wanted him.

RALEIGH — If an eight-time 20-goal scorer with a big contract is going to start his time with a new team with an 11-game goal drought, he might as well do it when there are other things to distract…

Devils scored to tie it, but Barzal wins it in OT. Good enough.
Huge Islanders fans tonight. Just went up 2-1 in Newark, 3 mins left.

Was seated at Canes Corner next to a father-son duo from New Brunswick, Canada. Dad a Whalers/Canes fan coming to his first home game, son a Caps fan.

They came into The Local having no idea there would be a #RaiseUp radio show starring a player they followed at home with the Halifax Mooseheads.

One reason Jarvy's goal last night was important - and why the Toronto press asked RBA about him last night. Rod really pumped him up, like you know he would:

with a $3.6Mil cap hit.
Rod Brind'Amour called Sean Walker "maybe the best/most valuable player to the team this season" yesterday.

"What we've asked him to do, the minutes, and the matchups, he's doing everything. PP, PK, he's taken all the slack for the guys who are out and done an amazing job."
