If all you know about Revere comes from Longfellow's poem this book fills in the details admirably. Pays tribute to fellow rider Dawes as well. Who knew Revere was also a dentist?

Back to the Revolutionary War time period with this read. Her role in flag making aside, this is a great read about the period from the mid-1700s to the late 1830s. A worthy read about an American icon and how she came to be one.

Not a book but a great project by the National Archives. These are the stories of our Revolutionary War soldiers in their own words. Well worth browsing & reading some of them. My 5x great grandfather is one those in this series.

My latest read packs a punch. Before Andersonville & the Hanoi Hilton, there were the POW camps of Brooklyn. As a history teacher of 25+ years I never saw this in a textbook. A must read & apologies to Tom Brokaw, this is the greatest generation.

My most recent read. The Revolutionary War from the common soldier viewpoint. Absolutely incredible what they endured. Without them the Founding Fathers would've founded nothing. Good companion read to A Hessian Diary.
