One Possible Interpretation:
This proverb warns that once gratitude disappears, the way back is lost. It highlights how ingratitude closes doors and severs relationships.

Yesterday wasn't how it should have been. If it was supposed to be that way, it shouldn't have been that way. That was bitter. But then I realized that if it's meant to be, then it should be different somehow. So that's how it should be. That was sweet.

The LED bulb in my hallway reaches the end of its service life. I have to climb a ladder. In fact, I hate it. Why?
The ceilings in my house are over three meters high, and every time I climb the ladder, I find that the new bulb is a different brand and, strangely, only one brand works.

If I can thank one man who has helped me greatly in my life, it is an old priest who helped me over 50 years ago at high school with a sentence that said:

"Nihil Novum sub sole"

which means "there is nothing new under the sun." That has always helped me.

Whoever loves the ugly, it appears beautiful to them.
(From Portugal)

My Interpretation:
This quote means that love changes perception—what matters most is how we see with our hearts, not just our eyes. Beauty is subjective and shaped by affection.
