HG AGE BMS-003 Shaldoll Rouge

A version of the Shaldoll customized to be a grunt mobile suit for the Bisidian space pirates. Its weapons also been changed to fit its new look with a DODS Buster rifle mounted to its arm for range and a beam axe or beam saber for close range.

Simultaneously the most silliest and deadliest of Zeon’s Amphibious Mobile Suits, if you’ve seen The War in the Pocket OVA. The Hy-Gogg stands out even amongst other aquatic MS kits with its long multi-jointed arms and squat stance.

HGBF WF-01 Winning Fumina

One of the few Mecha-Musume Gundam kits Bandai produced. The kit is very unique as it is basically 2 kits in 1 combining The Figure-Rise Standard plamo line for Fumina her self while the armor can be removed and made into a small SD Star Winning Gundam.

HG SEED ZGMF-1000/A1 Gunner Zaku Warrior [Lunamaria Hawke Custom]

SEED’s interpretation of The Zaku equipped with the EX-A1 Gunner Wizard Pack. Despite the age of the kit, being from 2005, it has some good possibility being able to do some good action poses even with the long gun.

Today in Japan is March 9th which according to japanese numeric gorowase/wordplay makes it both Zaku day for the Gundam community and Miku day for the Vocaloid community!

My 2nd favorite Grunt/Mass-production MS from Seed after the Murasame. Despite the simplicity in build, as it is designed to be a relatively inexpensive army-builder kit, it is high quality and fun to pose around with.

HGGBB RX-79[G]GUCT Gundam Ground Urban Combat Type

A nearly 1-to-1 recolored reprint of the 2018 HG Ground Gundam. While it is just a reprint, the kit is great with plenty of accessories to work with. It also has a small gimmick with an eye sticker to replicate the EXAM system.

My favorite mobile suit from SEED Freedom and one of my favorite transformable MS. An upgrade of the Murasame with a mobile armor form reminiscent of a F-14 with variable wings and a similar silhouette to the F-15 when the wings fold in.

One of my most favorite UC Mobile suit designs. I really like the utilitarian colors and the head reminds me of Megatron from Transformers. It also has one of the coolest weapon combos being a beam rifle with an underslung BAZOOKA.

When I first saw this kit at my local hobby store I thought that it looked alot like a gundam-fied Megatron because of the head and colors. I personally liked this design compared to the Sinanju. I especially prefer the more utilitarian looks with its color scheme. Unlike the Sinanju that this kit is based off of, The Stein only has 2 normal beam sabers instead of the beam tomahawks for its close combat weapons. Although the handles for the tomahawks are still in the kit as spares due to sharing some of the same runners, just no axe beam effects. The beam saber handles are stored in the back of the forearms underneath a removable panel. The shield is a bit difficult to pose with. The attachment part to the arm is held only by pressure, and a very loose grip causing it to fall off alot. Besides the mounting issue, the shield can rotate at two point allowing it to spin around to prevent any clashes with the shoulder armor. It also has an attachment point near the tip for either a small grenade launcher or the collapsed version of the bazooka, although the shield with bazoka attached cannot be held up due to gravity. One of the most over-the-top weapon combinations: the Beam rifle with underslung bazooka. Much like with the shield, the Bazooka (in its collapsed form) and the grenade launcher can be attached to the underside of the Beam rifle. With the rifle with bazooka attached will be to heavy for the Stein to hold up with one hand however it still looks badass holding it (with the help of a base stand to prop it up).

HGBD PEN-01M Momokapool

A cute penguin-inspired customized (and the only modern kit as of time of posting) version of the Kapool. A charming little kit with a simple construction even for an HG kit. It also comes with an even little-er Pettitkapool as a sort of companion.

The Momokapool is a tad basic for a kit compared to other kits in the line. Despite its simplicity, it has alot of charm going for it. It comes with a variety of expressions in the form of stickers. Its articulation is quite good especially in the arms allowing it to pull off some fun poses. The Petitkapool it comes with is also very simple, its parts are all on one runner, and does have very simple movement in its arms and can be stored in the Momokapool itself via the hatch that makes up its head. The only thing holding it back is a way to interchange the included facial expression stickers, which it has plenty of. The Momokapool doesn’t come with alot of accessories besides the Petitkapool and the expression stickers, so it has to make up for it with its poseability which it an do very well with help from a base stand. In terms of weapons, all of them are built in. Its only close range weapon it has is the Hand claw which allows it to slash enemies at a fair range thanks to its long arms. For long range it has 10 small beam guns, one in each of its fingers, as well as the Belly beam which is its most powerful weapon overall. A fun picture of the Momokapool, Petitkapool, and the Hygogg posing in a family picture. Just missing the original Gogg and maybe the Original Kapool to complete the family line, atleast the Gogg MS line.

HGBF Gundam Amazing Red Warrior

The name kinda explains itself. Its an amazing red gundam kit with a variety weapons and great articultion to put in any combat action pose both long and close range.

The signature pose of the Amazing Red Warrior. Arms hold out wide with palms open upward giving it the “Come at me, Bro” or “look up and behold my majesty as I descend gloriously from the skies” kind of feel. The Amazing Red Warrior comes with an arsenal of weapons to hold. The two shown are the Hyper Bazooka on the left and the Gattling gun on the right. Some of the other long range weapons it also has are the Handgun, the Long Rifle, and parts to transform the Gattling gun into a beam rifle which can also attach to the stock of the long rifle to make a powered up long beam rifle. It also has a small shield on its left arm which has a mini vulcan built-in. It also has more built-in long range weapons. The chest and front-skirts can parts-form to an open state to expose four 3-tube missile launchers. Its close range options are also varied. The handgun can be equipped with either a short or long physical blade to turn it into a Gunblade. Theres also an wrist-mounted beam sword emitter on its right arm which can hold either a short or long flat-beam effect part.

Woke up with some fascinating news! Bandai has finally stepped into the realm of TTRPG proper with its new game announcement: Gundam Assemble. A TTRPG where you get to use various miniature models of Mobile suits, Battle ships, and possibly Mobile armors in small-scale battles.

New year means new Gunpla releases! While I am looking forward to what is gonna come out, The Psycho Gundam MK II for one, I also need to try and build more. At least to make more space for more kits in the backlog. Hahaha.

While this is small compared to most modelers, a backlog can get out of control really easily. So time to check what kits Da Boss has accumulated last year and try to see what kit currently catches their eye. Not expecting to see Gundam-Musume kits to be here. Probably had to do with watching build fighters during the holidays. If I recall, this kit has been here for almost 5 years already. Da Boss really need to get this built. Also pretty sure their gate cleaning skils improved the last year too. That should be it for now. Things are gonna be busy given its a new year, but I’m pretty sure that Da Boss has the time to do some of these. Though I did hear that theres a delivery coming in soon…

HGUC MS-06R-1A Zaku II High Mobility Test Type [Shin Matsunaga custom]

A Zaku II variant from the MSV (Mobile Suit Variation) sub line of HGs and belonging to Zeon ace: Shin Matsunaga. A cool white Zaku variant with the usual weapons and a shield mount to hold those weapons.

The Zaku II High mobility Test type is a variant of the Zaku II which has its legs modified for higher speeds and maneuverability. This particular one is panted in, Zeon Ace, Shin Matsunaga’s colors. While, lore wise, it is great for fighting in space, the leg thrusters hinders its leg articulation specifically in the knees as the back-leg thruster housing hits the thigh. Its upper-thigh leg rotation and hip articulation also limits the amount of ground poses it can do. This Zaku II kit comes with the usual Zaku weapons loadout of Machine Gun, Zaku Bazooka, and Heat Hawk. It also has a pair of trigger finger hands (both left and right) along with the usual holding hands to dual wield any combination of the weapons. My favorite part of this kit is that it also comes with a shield mount that can be slid on and off the shoulder shield to hold all it’s weapons when not used, so it can hold all its weapons. The bazooka can be held under-arm and over the shoulder with the use of a hinge in the handle. It also has small tabs on the handle to lock into either left or right trigger-hand for better grip. It can also be held in both hands with the use of the left side handle to show aim stabilization. The Machine gun has a tab on its handle to specifically be held in the right hand. It can also be positioned to be held in both hands to stabilize aim with the use of the left side handle. The kit also comes with a spare pan magazine that can be mounted on the side skirt, but cannot be swapped with the one used for the gun itself. The Heat Hawk is the main close range weapon of the Zakus. The heat hawk can be held in both hands and be stored in the shield weapon mount or the side skirt via a tab. The one shown in this picture is actually from the SD Cross Silhouette Zaku II set and shows it in the activated state. The one that comes with the kit is molded in all black, but can still be used as is or to show it in its inactive state. Its just my preference to use the SD one to show it when active.

A mostly pure white mobile suit piloted by Woolf Enneacle, whose signature MS color is White. I really like the design especially the backpack and shield which houses a blade for CQC.

I got this when I was somewhat obsessed with pure-white colored mobile suits. I also liked its back pack as it reminded me of the Tallgeese with it being two large binders with 3 thrusters: 1 on the inner side and 2 fold-out thrusters on the outter side. Besides the color and the cool high-mobility backpack it’s equipped with a basic loadout of gun, shield, and 3 swords. If you noticed it, the small crack on the left bicep was from years ago when I confused which way the piece goes, causing it fit too tight and break when I removed it. Its only long-range option was the DDOS Rifle. A simplified version of the Gundam AGE’s rifle. It has a unique grip which has block on the end of the handle which In conjunction to the Bouncer’s square wrists gives it a snug, pincer-like hold on the arm, the only downside is that it can’t rotate if needed to without unplugging the entire hand. It can be stored on the back skirt via a peg. The shield is not just a shield. It can be used as a close combat weapon thanks to it housing the Shiguru blade on the lower part of the shield. It can also be detached as a short sword too. Although the handle is round and a tad too small making it loose in the hand. It also has a pair of beam sabers. Both are usually stored in the side skirts when not used and uses the flat beam saber effect parts often used in the HG AGE kits.
